Porchetta

Stepping into Meat and Bread, you’ll be overwhelmed (in a good way) by the delicious smell of roasted chicken / pork. Their signature sandwich is porchetta, an Italian roast chicken / pork that’s moist, juicy and flavorful. Traditionally porchetta is the body of a whole pig that’s been deboned, stuffed and roasted. It’s a popular dish from the Lazio region of Italy and you can readily find it freshly-roasted and stuffed into panini on the streets of Rome. Honey Glazed Spiral Sliced Ham

  This year was the first year I made a ham! And by made a ham, I mean, I bought one (spiral-cut), made a glaze, and baked it. It was easy as pie – even easier to be honest because pie isn’t all that easy. Honey glazed ham for the win! I was a little nervous about the whole thing because a.) I’ve never made a ham before and b.) Historically, I’m not actually the biggest fan of ham. Growing up, ham was never really a thing. We celebrated by either having Chinese banquet feasts, or, during the holidays, our big roast would always, always be a turkey. So I don’t know much about ham culture or the deep deep love people have for ham. Caramel Apple Pudding

This gooey, delicious caramel apple pudding may just be exactly the excuse you need to go apple picking this fall!   Ingredients: => 1 large apple, diced => 2 tablespoons butter => 1/2 cup sugar => 1 teaspoon rum Pudding: => 2 eggs => 1 egg yolk => 1/2 cup sugar => 1 1/4 cups milk, warm To garnish: => Whipped cream => Parsley   Preparation: = Preheat oven to 320 degrees. Prepare a round cake pan with butter. = In a saute pan over medium heat, add apples, butter and sugar. Stir with a wooden spoon for about 5 to 6 minutes, until it turns a golden caramel color. Remove from heat and stir in the rum. Pour into prepared cake pan and smooth the top. = In a mixing bowl, add the eggs, egg yolk and sugar. Whisk until combined. Gradually stir in the milk. Pour into the cake pan through a sieve. Bake for 40 minutes. = Cool in the refrigerator. Turn upside down onto a plate and decorate with whipped cream and parsley. = Serve warm.

Red Hot Chili Jam

Some people love the taste of chili - it gives them the Natural High. To spice up your morning meal, you can create this adventurous chili jam to help add a little kick into your eggy breakfast. Ingredients: => 125 g of Garlic Cloves (crushed) => 125 g of Ginger (peeled and grated) => 60 g of Medium-Hot Red Chilies  (stems removed) => 1.25 kg of Tomatoes => 825 g of Sugar => 30 ml of White Vinegar => 1/2 tsp of Salt => 2 tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce Preparation: = Put the chilies and tomatoes in a Food Processor and blend until it become smooth. Pour the mixture into a pan. = Then add in the rest of the ingredients, slowly bring the concoction to a boil. Stir to help dissolve the sugar. = Stir frequently for about an hour until chili jam thickens and turns Rich Red. = Scoop the jam into mason jars and let it cool. Make sure to store in a cool dry spot and consume within Six Months. = Enjoy!  

Beef / Chicken Breakfast Shots

Start your morning with a shot — of bacon, scrambled eggs and cheese. Ingredients => 1 pound beef / Chicken (cut into slices) => 1 tablespoon unsalted butter => 8 eggs, lightly beaten => 1 teaspoon garlic powder => Salt and pepper, to taste => 2 white American cheese slices, torn => 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella => Chives, for garnish => Sriracha, to taste Preparation = Preheat oven to 400 degrees. = Cut a paper towel tube into 4 smaller cylinders and cover them with aluminum foil. These will be the shot forms. = Place half a piece of beef / chicken slices on the bottom of the tube and wrap 1 1/2 more pieces around the outside to create the shot shape. = Place beef / chicken shot molds into a muffin tin and bake for 20 to 30 minutes.
