
Begun bhaja or fried brinjal is a very common dish in Bengali cuisine and is extremely easy to prepare. This is a Bengali Traditional easy-to-cook dish which is liked by almost all Bengali Peoples in both Bangladesh & Calcutta. It can be served with Steamed Rice, Polaw and Khichuri. You can also serve them with Breads.
Ingredients:
=> Brinjal / Begun – 1 big (Round Shaped)
=> Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
=> Salt – to taste
=> Oil / mustard oil – for deep frying the brinjal
Preparation:
= Wash the brinjal and then cut the brinjal in round pieces (it shouldn't be very thin or very thick, medium sized).
= Rub the brinjal pieces with turmeric and salt .
= Heat oil in a pan and then deep fry each of the brinjal pieces until it becomes Dark Brown in color.
= Take out them from oil and keep them in a serving dish.
= Serve hot.
